Jessica sat quietly reading in her room. Finally, she decided she needed a walk, and where else to go than the beach? Jessica placed the book she was reading on the night stand a jumped up. She changed into a pair of shorts and a turquoise top. It was definitely warm enough outside. Her thoughts kept drifting to how this summer would turn out; she sighed and focused her thoughts on her appearance. Jessica was trying to focus just on the here and now, not on how dreadful or amazing this summer could turn out. She walked slowly to the bathroom and checked her face. After an internal debate she decided she would just wear mascara to the beach. She didn’t figure she would run into anyone anyways. Her long brown hair was styled wavy, as usual.
She jogged down the stairs to see her mom. She explained to her mom she was going to go to the beach for a few hours. Cassie just smiled and nodded. She yelled her good bye and stepped outside. The sun instantly warmed her skin, it was a nice afternoon. It wasn’t to hot, and looked like it might rain later. She mentally wished she would have drove, but she was already walking towards the beach, there was no sense in turning around now. She walked in a steady pace until she seen the road that would take her to the white sand of Maderia beach.
It was a spectacular sight; Jessica always came here during the summers. She reached the bank and looked around, a mile or so down was a family swimming, with a few younger people scattered around. Jessica couldn’t tell if they were around her age, younger or older. But she didn’t figure any of them would come to talk to her, so she found a nice spot that was sort of secluded and sat down. She pulled her knees up and rested back on her hands. She made herself relax and empty her mind; she was trying to enjoy the scene the ocean provided. Too bad she didn’t have her sketch book she thought silently while gazing out across the ocean. This was her favorite place to come and think, she rarely ever had anything else to do.
