SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS ME Benny was a hard working man, he showed good work ethic at the job but when he got home he definitely slacked off a bit. He was less polite at home, he was a lot messier too. He arrived at his family's estate around eight fifteen o'clock, the time he got off every night and cooked dinner at. Moments before pulling into the drive-way he had gotten off the phone with his girl friend of three years, Anna Murphy. She was going to join him, eve, and James for dinner which made him a lot more willing to go inside. Sometimes his family could be so annoying, but she made them less annoying when she came over and he even seemed to become nicer to his siblings when she was around. Over the years he had gotten generally nicer anyways, but he was always at his most kindness with her around. It had not always been like that but it developed to be so over the years. Benny locked his black mustang up and kept his keys in his hand until he got into the house. When he walked through the door he left the second door open so that Anna could just walk through and let herself in through the screen door. He slid his shoes off and hung his coat up on the coat rack, his keys seeming to fall onto a dresser near the door. He stretched a little and when he took his arms down again he ruffled his hair around, trying to loosen the gel. He looked around with a lazy gaze and spotted his half-brother and full-sister on the couch. They were playing some video game, obviously too caught up in their pokemon battle to notice him coming in. He continued to mess his hair around while walking forward and by the time he got there his hair was going in every direction, but it was a normal look for him. "I'mma make dinner guys, where's James?"
The first statement was said to both of them but the question was directed at Eve. All that he got in response was a simple shrug, his reaction being a frown. With a roll of the eyes he turned away and took the matter of finding James up to himself, it was always good to have an eye on the boy. Once he was found Benny was still yet to be satisfied, especially at the sight of what he was doing. James was sitting there on the back-yard padio, just smoking away at a cigarette. Not only was he underage by a year but Benny had extreme feelings towards cigarettes and smoking, feelings that were definitely not welcoming ones. He approached the scene with care though, he didn't want to scare James away, nor did he want to give him a wrong impression but he still wanted a message to go through the kid's thick skull. "James, what did I tell you about listening to Charlie?" Charlie was one of his little brother schizophrenic voices, it was the one he spoke most of, the one who always seemed to get him in trouble. James believed that he was being controlled by Charlie and had an impulse of following what 'he' was to say in fear of something bad happening if he didn't listen to the voice. The voice Benny had used with James was light but still gave off the type of tone that your parents gave you when in trouble, strict. He approached him fully now, not hesitating to snatch the cigarette out of his hand and to burn it out in the ash tray. He took a seat beside him and awaited the answer, knowing it would be a few moments because James always took his time to think things through in his head and then would say what he needed to say. "Charlie didn't want it..." Benny could tell that he was lying through his teeth, trying to protect Charlie so Charlie didn't get mad at him or something of the works. Or maybe James didn't want Benny to know he wasn't taking his medication, you never knew with him. Either way, Benny wasn't sure if James was aware of how obvious he was. He kept his eyebrows raised and didn't remove his gaze on James, still awaiting the rest of his response. "James did..." James blew some air out while saying it and couldn't look Ben in the eye, that being the most convincing factor of the lie. The way he referred to himself in third person was almost comical, but Benny could laugh about that later when he wasn't in the middle of the situation. Benny nodded and tried to keep his cool, he didn't want to explode and scare James. He noticed that James wasn't really looking at him anymore, something must have gotten on his mind other than the situation at hand. Benny frowned and took hold of his face on either sides, forcing eye contact between himself and his brother. "Either way, Jamie, you can't have them. If I catch you again, I'm going to have to tell dad." His voice was still not threatening, but a strict-soft warning. James' eyes grew wide with fear at Benny's words and he began shaking his head at a rapid pace. Benny couldn't help it, he laughed, let go and stood up, "Alright then, come on, stay in the living room while I make dinner..." He waited for him to go on inside and get in the living room before shutting the glass sliding door behind him and heading into the kitchen to get to work. Anna wasn't there yet, which didn't surprise him, there was about a ten minute distance between their houses. He went ahead and put stir fry on the stove, preparing the cookies for after as well. His siblings always liked them made already, that way they'd be sure he would make them. Overall, he was running around the kitchen and getting really messy between the flour, the veggie juice, the cookie dough, the chicken and everything in between. He worked at ease though, being the type of guy that could work while covered in thick mud if necessary. All day, Anna had been hard at work in the hospital. Being a Pediatric Nurse, she often worked with sick children, which was a bitter luxury. Anna loves children – too an obsessive level, possibly – but didn’t like seeing them in such pain and horrible conditions. Though seeing them smile at her, no matter the pain, she always felt like the negative feelings were worth it. All the nights that she ends up crying over some patient are worth a single smile, in Anna’s eyes. Today in particular had been rough – one of the newborns that had been born premature wasn’t doing so well. And, of course, with her luck, Anna ended up in the NICU for the day, watching this poor little baby suffer, and attempting to care for him to the best of her abilities. Medically, she was positive that this baby wouldn’t make it – but she hoped that he beat the odds. She always hopes that they beat the odds, even if they never seem to push through for her. Anna never loses hope, and always begs and pleads with whatever god is out there to save this poor child, or to just let their suffering end.
She had been home for about an hour when she got on the phone with Benny, and she spoke with him as she cleaned the house (read: danced while pretending to be doing something productive), holding off on dinner, already sure that she would be heading over to the Rune’s for her supper this evening. If he didn’t offer, then she would just invite herself. Three years was enough time to be able to do that, she figured. As she got off the phone, she fully intended to actually get some cleaning done – to her, the house was a mess. A blanket was lying on the couch, unfolded and unused (GASP!) and she had clothes scattered around on her floor. Wondering as to why they were there, she picked them up, noticing that they weren’t all hers. Some were Benny’s, so she figured that at some recent point they had just been thrown off in haste to get into the bedroom. Shrugging, she set them on her dresser, folded neatly, before opening up her mahogany wood dresser drawer, pulling out her clothing choice. Having been wearing the same thing all day, Anna felt like she was in desperate need for a new outfit to cover her skin.
Selecting a pair of black leggings with a loose-fitted tee to wear overtop, Anna didn’t really care so much about what she looked like – today had been a long day, and she was missing Benny. Clothing seemed like absolutely nothing compared to the slow burning ache building in her chest. It was ridiculous, really. It had only been a day, and she had talked to him multiple times throughout the day – why was she missing him? The answer was unknown, but she wouldn’t (couldn’t) fight it. Throwing the clothing on, she decided to straighten her hair before pulling it up. Twenty minutes later, her hair was cascading down her back, silky, smooth and freshly straightened. Volumizing it, she tugged her hair back, making it smooth and bump-free with the top volumized. Placing diamond studs into her earring holes, Anna deemed herself ready to go. Nearly running out of the house, she slid into the black heels lying near the door, grabbing her keys and purse in one swift motion. Getting into her car, Anna was about ready to just damn all speed limits, just to get to the Rune’s faster. She was aware that Benny was cooking – and he was a good cook, luckily for her. Anna was cursed, or so she believed. Having been unable to make instant pudding , she gave up on cooking all together, and this had been about two years ago. To say the least, that was a very frustrating day for her – luckily, Benny had been around with her, so she hadn’t completely lost her mind.
Gliding down the road, Anna plugged her iPhone into the cord, selecting Summer Girls by Stereos. It was her new favorite song – it was playing nearly all the time, and it was her ringtone. Being roughly ten or fifteen minutes away from the Rune’s, Anna impatiently waited as the distance was cut shorter and shorter, growing more restless with every foot. At the end of the song, she switched it to Billionaire by Travie McCoy, another one of her songs. Finally pulling into the Rune’s estate, Anna brought the clutch to Park, disconnecting her phone and sliding it into her pocket. A grin came across her features, grabbing her keys and making her way towards the door. Knowing that it would be open for her, she just made her way in, slipping her shoes off. Seeing Eve and James, she waved, and then brought her pointer finger to her lips, signaling to be quiet. A plan formulating in her head, she set her purse down on the couch, tip-toeing into the kitchen. One of her favorite things was watching Benny cook – she didn’t know why. Maybe it was because he always seemed to be a mess, and maybe it was just because she was crazy in love with him. Either way, she stopped for a minute in the doorway, grinning ear-to-ear, before continuing in, still attempting to keep silent.
Reaching Benny, his back was to her, and he hadn’t noticed her – not that she could tell from, at least. Placing her hands on his back gingerly, she slipped them around his waist, hugging him tightly. Leaning into his strong back, she closed her eyes and breathed in deeply, almost instantly relaxing. Softly kissing his spine, between his shoulder blades, she held her position, comfortable and not really wanting to move quite yet.

SOMETIMES I FIND IT HARD• to believe there's someone else who could be •JUST AS MESSED UP AS ME
Stir Fry took about thirty minutes to cook it was just beginning to finish, as well as the cookies. He started setting the table up and set a place for him, james, eve, and anna. Returning to the stir fry he starting making the plates based off how much everybody usually ate, starting with himself since he knew himself the best. Once his plate was made he set it aside and started on Eve's, hers was about the same amount as his, which was a little weird when you looked at how little Eve was. Now, Ben wasn't fat-- no, he was all muscle, but she didn't have too much muscle( that he was aware of ) or fat so he just had many wonders as to where all the food she ate went. Once those two plates were put at the normal seats Benny started on James' and called out to James, "James buddy, can you put Zack to bed?"
Zack was eight years old and his bedtime was eight thirty, being set by the father of the house who was never home at the time. Zack was always fixed some sort of dinner around six by Evelyn so he never had to worry about not eating dinner one night. Benny didn't get a response from James but he didn't worry about it, he was probably just trying to grab Zack up or something. Their little brother was a bit of a handful, the last thing the kid wanted was to go to sleep for the night. Out of the corner of his eye he could see James walking up the stairs with Zack in his arms, heading up to the eight year olds room. Benny expected that getting him to sleep would take no longer than fifteen minutes which was just enough time for him to get the rest of the food ready and cooled. The cookies were already set to the side on a plate for after dinner, he made a rule that no one could have any until their plate was cleared. Benny was in the middle of James' plate when Mufasa, James' cat, climbed onto the counter and watched him make the plate. Mufasa was a large cat, it surprised Benny that he was even able to jump as high as the counter, much less ontop of it. He just let the cat sit there in fear of it trying to bite him, the cat had the meanest look on his face and believe it or not, scared him. That's right, the guy who wouldn't be scared free falling was terrified of his little brother's cat. He ignored him with his best efforts and placed James' plate at the seat that James demanded was his seat everytime. James came down stairs just as his plate was set down and Ben told him to wash hands, sit down, and wait for everyone. James obeyed him without an issue and Eve went ahead and did the same thing. Benny was taking a breath when he looked at the door and still didn't see Anna there, it wasn't something to worry about still if you knew Anna well enough. She was probably just doing her hair or something. He took a few breaths and just paid attention to the television in the other room, which he luckily had perfect sight of and watched a few minutes of it to get caught up on the game. Once he was decently caught up he turned around and got Anna's plate ready, "Now for baby's plate.." he muttered under his breath, the thought of her gave him butterflies in his stomach. Weird how he still got like that after three years, but he figured it was because he loved her unconditionally. He never went an hour in the day without thinking about her, he even had contemplated asking her to marry him. He had a ring bought, it was all about waiting for the right time. The night in consideration was actually, tonight. He was just about to pick up her plate when he felt fragile little arms wrap around him. Benny was not startled, he was almost relieved, the anticipation of her arrival was starting to bother him. He let her hug him from behind for a few minutes and even took hold of her hands. Two or three minutes passed before he turned his body around so that he was facing her. He had a big, goofy smile across his food ingredient covered face and was wearing a navy blue cooking apron, where a lot of the mess was, as well as his hands. He knew it was going to drive her crazy and he couldn't help but laugh, he felt like a little kid coming to their mother with mud all over them. "James, come get Anna's plate and put it at her spot.." Benny knew better, they were going to stand in the kitchen, kiss around, and get him cleaned up before Anna would even consider sitting down for dinner. He looked away from Anna for a second to see James, he noticed something different about him this time. He now knew why Eve had been laughing at him. How he didn't notice the girls underwear James was wearing over his jeans he wasn't sure, but man, was it a sight. He broke out in laughter again and motioned over at him for Anna to see, wondering if she saw it either. He shook his head and muttered, "What the hell man.." with laughs still escaping his lips. He waited for James to scurry out with Anna's plate to look back down at Anna, his face still not quite composed. "Have a good day babe...?" [/blockquote][/blockquote] TAGGED ! anna WORDS ! 957 OUTFIT ! james and benny LYRICS ! sometimes by skillet TEMPLATE ! PANIC! Anna was a regular for dinner at the Runes – hell; she spent just about all of her spare time here – so she knew that there would most likely be food ready, a messy Benny, and everyone ready to eat. She had her own spot at the table, and no one was ever surprised to hear that she was coming over, considering it happened every day that she wasn’t working. If Benny were working, Anna would be here, anyways, spending time with the other Runes. It was nice, being so close with everyone, and it made it all the easier to have a relationship with Benny. Not that the two weren’t just about perfect, having no family drama was just the cherry on top. She didn’t know what she would ever do if they broke up – it was unthinkable, at this point. Just the thought made her start breaking down, and she hadn’t even thought of it in months. Why would they ever break up? They were in relationship paradise. There would be no reason for it to end – they resolved any and every dispute, and were always there for each other and supportive. It was impossible to even come up with a reason as to why they would end it.
He knew her, and she knew him. Try being in a serious relationship for three years and not know everything about the person that you’re with. She knew all of his habits, everything that he does, how he is. And she was positive that he was the same. She wouldn’t be all too surprised if they hacked into each other’s feelings and minds soon enough, started sharing feelings and thoughts. Or at least being aware of the other persons. They were close, Anna had noticed. She could tell certain things that he was thinking just from the slightest twitch in his features, knew when he wanted to say something, and knew what every little emotion on his face meant. It was comforting, and normal. They had just sort of fallen into this relationship, and it was perfect in Anna’s eyes. Being here, just holding onto him after a rough day, was her picture of home and what she wanted for the rest of her life. She had a vision of her future. All it consisted of was marrying Benny and having his babies. It sounded like the perfect life to her, and was all that she wanted. Everything else could go sour in her life, but as long as she had Benny she was sure that she would be alright.
Holding on to Benny for a few minutes, she watched James from his embrace. Raising as inquisitive eyebrow, she started laughing softly, taking in the image before her. She was clueless as to why James would wear frilly, lacey underwear over his pants, but she didn’t question it. Considering Benny was now facing her, she leaned her forehead against his chest, continuing to laugh at James’ clothing choices. She had forgotten about the mess – but she was fairly aware now, as she pulled back away abruptly. Scrunching up her nose and squinting her eyes, she attempted to magically remove the mess. Obviously it didn’t work, so she shook her head rapidly on the off chance that the dusting of flour would magically remove itself from the tip of her nose and her forehead. Giving up, she pouted, and just kept her position for a moment before moving again. Regretfully removing one of her arms, she brushed off her face, and pulled at the apron that Benny wore, wanting to be in his arms again, this time without the presence of mess. Proving to be unsuccessful, she pouted at Benny, sure that he was aware of what she was wanting.
And then she noticed the mess on his face. Grabbing a paper towel from the roll on the counter, she got it damp before attempting to clean off his face. Sure, she hadn’t spoken yet – but this was more important in her eyes. They didn’t need words. But she did need to have some form of physical contact with him, and cleaning must come before that. Considerately she started wiping off the mess that was all over him, smiling all the while, her eyes and touch warm and gentle. She was finished within a few seconds, and she stretched up, kissing his neck tenderly before walking over to throw the paper towel away. Grabbing a clean, new paper towel, she got that one damp as well, before making her way back to Benny. Now standing in front of him, she spoke, "Hands." she asked for softly, already sure that there was a mess waiting to be cleaned up. Holding out her hand, he placed his on her open palm, and she started washing it off, her love and adoration pouring into each soft, gentle stroke of the paper towel. Once one hand was cleaned to her liking, she let that one drop and started cleaning off the other one. Finished, she went and threw the paper towels away for the second time. Reaching Benny once again, she melted into his embrace. This was all done within approximately a minute or two, and at this point James was just reaching the table with Anna’s plate in hand. ’Have a good day, babe…?’ At this, her expression became slightly less happy and calm, and more upset, showing the frustrations and heartache of the day. ”Eh, not so much,” she admitted softly, tightening her grip on him ever-so-slightly.

we are broken - - W H A T M U S T W E D O T O R E S T O R E- - our innocence It was official; she had lost her favorite purse with her license and debit card, and it was pissing her off. It wasn’t in her apartment, that much was sure considering the fact that Aubrey had destroyed her apartment looking for it. Her purse was not in her car, since her car was so tiny and it was impossible to lose something. There was no way her purse was at her desk at work anyways, so she was racking her mind for where she could have put her Prada bag. Normally, Aubrey wouldn’t be so concerned about where her purse was; it was just a purse. But this purse was her life, that was the only way to describe it. Biting her lip, she glanced around her apartment once again. It was in shambles, and it was bother Aubrey way too much. She had a problem when things weren’t in place, but she couldn’t help but destroy her apartment to look for this. There could only be so many places where a purse could be, especially a black one that all of her friends saw all the time and whatnot. Grabbing her cell phone, she texted Anna and Benny, hoping for some sort of response with an answer where her purse would be, but there was no response. Of course. Vaguely, she remembered Benny saying something about not going to the apartment tonight because he was impressing Anna with something, but at this point, she didn’t care. All she wanted was to be back with her adoring purse and her belongings. Waiting a couple of more seconds, hoping for a response, she came up with one option; she was going to have to go her friend’s apartment and look for her stupid purse. Gr.
The brunette prayed that no cop would pull her over in the next ten minutes. She’d be arrested, and there was no need to arrest her for forgetting where her purse was. No cop would agree to that, unless he was really hot and made her go on a date with him. She thought about that. Huh, that wouldn’t actually be bad. That would put a whole new perspective on being arrested. A red light appeared and her car skidded to a stop, fling Aubrey towards the windshield and she swore. This was not a good day. Her hand fiddled with the radio, looking for some station before hearing California Girls by Katy Perry. This, of course, led to her to start dancing in her car, with one window down and shaking her hair. A loud beep brought her out of her zone and she looked behind her, mortified. One of her bosses-yes, plural-was behind her and waved. She felt her cheeks turn bright red and quickly sped off. Oh my god. How could she ever be taken seriously in the fashion photography business? This day was just getting better and better.
Quickly pulling into the driveway, her eyes landed on the cars in front of her. Benny and Anna’s car was there and she bit her bottom lip. Part of her was telling her that there was a reason Benny had told her not to stop by tonight, not even if someone was dying, but she really needed her purse. Her purse was her baby. And a mother could never be parted from her baby, right? The brunette knew that a male would never understand where she was coming from, but she had to go in. She just had to. Her cell phone vibrate and she glanced at it, the text message from her father. No, of course it wouldn’t be from her friends telling her they knew where her purse was. That would be way too nice, right? Whatever, once again, Aubrey ignored her inner voice and entered the house, surprised that the front door was unlocked.
Her eyes glanced around the nice house; she always adored Benny and his home. It was so nice and clean and pretty, and it made Aubrey’s tiny apartment look like a place where hobo’s would live or something. Humming, she looked around the living room before her eyes landed on her purse in the corner. Her beloved baby was hiding in the corner, right beneath her sweater. She must have left it here last night when Aubrey dropped something off for Benny, not that she could remember what it was. Whatever, her purse was reunited with her now and her life was complete. And then she saw James walking by, wearing girl’s underwear. Wow. Ok then. She went towards the kitchen and stuck her head around the corner, only to see Benny and Anna in one of their kissy-kissy moments. Way to ruin the moment, right? ”Is there any particular reason James is wearing girl underwear?” she asked, her eyebrow raised. ”And I see why neither of you responded to my text message telling you I was coming over.” it was a playful banter that was evident from the smile teasing at her lips.
